About this journal
Estetika is a generalist journal in the field of philosophical aesthetics. We strive to publish high-quality research representing the diverse and rich traditions in aesthetics. Our ambition is to build bridges not only between the Anglophone and continental traditions of aesthetics, but also between historical and contemporary views, between aesthetics and other fields of philosophy and academic research in general. Estetika is an open access, triple-anonymous peer-reviewed journal published twice a year.

A New Issue of Estetika Published
The new issue of Estetika, published on 18 March 2025, opens with David Collins’s paper, ‘Expanding Davies’s Pragmatic Constraint: A Pragmatist Principle for Philosophizing about Art’, the winner of 2023 Fabian Dorsch Essay Prize awarded by the European Society for Aesthetics. In ‘Multisensory Experience of Paintings’, René Jagnow draws a connection between paintings that depict atmospheres and genuinely multisensory experiences. The phenomenology of painting experience is also at the centre of ‘Imaginative Variations: A Phenomenological Analysis of Imaginary Worlds in Experiences of Visual Art’, co-authored by Anders Essom-Stenz and Tone Roald. In ‘Some Intriguing Works That Read Like Comics’, Nicolas Greliche presents a series of visual challenges to prevailing definitions of comics. The issue further includes three critical notes.
